Boreal Beauty - Canada Jay 11"x14" Original Framed
C$695.00Price
The Canada Jay, also known as the Whiskey Jack, is a highly sociable and amusing bird that we look forward to encountering on our northern travels. In my painting, I aimed to depict the warm light radiating from the left, casting the Jay into partial shadow. The Canada Jay does not migrate south but in fact stores it's food in the bark of trees and stays year round. Since their food caches depend on the cold winter months to keep from spoiling, their current habitat is being pushed further northwards as our winters become warmer.
